The students of Mass Communication here at Doon Business School are exposed to the syllabus of Mass Communication not only in its theoretical splendour but also covering to the practical nuances of the subject. The faculties are well qualified and hail from the industry specializing in Print, Electronic, Graphics and Audio Video Media with multiple years of experience to their credit. We have a subscription of all popular English and Hindi dailies. Our state of the art Mass communication lab boasts of digital cameras and handy cams to cater to the needs of students for exterior shoots. We have an audio video editing lab with a recording studio. In fact the academic is nurtured by a panel of experts from the industry to who come from time to time to impart knowledge on the latest developments and trends in the industry.

B.A (HONS.) JOURNALISM & MASS COMMUNICATION

BA (Hons.) Journalism & Mass Communication Program is a three year graduate program. The program is affiliated to HNB Garhwal Central University (Link to their site).At Doon Business School, this program offers students an interdisciplinary foundation in the basic theory and skills necessary to become media practitioners of different areas. Graduates of this program are open to a myriad career options – Print and Television Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, and Corporate Communications etc. Students are given an opportunity to work on live projects arranged by CDC team & Faculties of Doon Business School which gives them an edge over their contemporaries. The set of curriculum is especially designed in a way that helps to prepare young people with multi-skills needed for employment in the exciting and rapidly growing mass media industry. The course uses a combination of theoretical and practical training which gives the students an opportunity to grab lucrative career opportunities in Editing, Reporting, TV and Film scripting, Production, Animation, Direction and Media Management in India and abroad.

FACILITIES

Electronic Media Production Centre (TV Studio & Radio Station / Production Cell):

The Electronic Media Production Centre(including Radio Station and TV Studio) is equipped with latest technologies and equipments like HD video cameras, video editing systems, recording units, microphones, lights, reflectors and a studio set. Students get ample opportunities for studio and outdoor shoots.

Campus Newspaper:

Students edit a campus newspapers 'Mirror de la Societe' which covers all the happenings in the college and views and opinions of the students. The reporting, news writing, editing, photography and pagination is all done by the students under the guidance of experienced faculties from media.

Industrial Tours:

Media education cannot be imparted only in classrooms. We at DBS strongly believe in extensive industry interaction. Students visit Newsrooms, production houses, studios and printing press to gain a firsthand knowledge about the process. In addition to industry visits, every student of mass communicationis attached to a media industry like Advertising Agency, News Channels, Newspaper Publishing House and Production Houses at the end of the year where they spend 30 days working for that organization. This helps in a smoother transition from a student to a mass communicator phase.

Rolling Admission Policy

Rolling Status means that the candidate has not confirmed his candidature within the stipulated time, but is a suitable candidate for admission to the institute. Hence, when such a candidate is ready to confirm his candidature and upon receiving the admission fee, the admission in-charge will consider his application taking into account the seats available in the course (if any) on that day or may offer an alternate course if seats are not available in that course.

"The Course nomenclature, curriculum, tenure etc. are subject to revision by the affiliating university due to implementation of NEP 2020 and all changes shall be automatically applied on the respective programs".
