BA Economics

The BA Economics (through Transformational Learning) is a 3 year degree in Economics with a difference. Through transformative learning experiences, Economics is actively used to change your relationship with the world and develop your own views and perspectives. Our goal is to provide a truly engaging education for you where each learning experience is designed to challenge and support the expansion of your capabilities, skills and values. Unique to this Programme is the module Transition to Professional Life facilitating the integration of academic content with your career development.

Course Contents

The undergraduate courses in economics are structured to contribute to the student’s liberal education with a multiplicity of combinations. The programmes impart analytical skills and intellectual maturity to comprehend the complexities in the working of the economy. The course provides a sound theoretical basis in economic theory supplemented by practical applications of theories. Three year are devoted to give a firm background in microeconomics, macroeconomics, development economics & international economics, Indian Economy since Independence & Financial Economics. B.A.(Economics) has been designed & delivered with an objective of economical ,financial & managerial skills development of students.

Admission Procedure

BA, BA (Hons) Economics, BFA , Fashion Designing & B.Sc Agriculture, Horticulture & Forestry.

  1. Student can either download the registration form from our website www.doonbusinessschool.com and attach a photocopy of 12th Marks & a Demand Draft of Rs.1000 drawn in favour of Doon Business School payable at Dehradun, or can fill the online registration form and pay online. Print the form after submitting and send the copy of the form with online receipt with other documents to the institute.
  2. On the basis of the merit of the 12th scores, Shortlisted Candidates will be called for PI as per schedule of different places of preference filled in the form.
  3. On the date of scheduled interview the student shall report at the venue in time, wherein briefing of the institute, rules and regulations etc shall be given to the students. There after the concerned students shall appear for their Personal Interview.
  4. Each student appearing for the PI/Counseling at Dehradun shall carry with them a DD of Rs 10,000/- drawn in favour of Doon Business School and payable at Dehradun. The Demand Draft shall be deposited before PI/Counseling. The list of the successful candidates shall be communicated with in next day. Those who fail to make it to the merit list shall be returned with their Demand Drafts. For all the successful candidates the deposited draft amount will be adjusted in the Admission Fees of the respective course they are selected for.
  5. If the student is opting for the PI at any location other than Dehradun, the successful candidate will be given a shortlisted letter and the admission letter will be issued after due verification of all documents and deposition of admission fees by the candidate by DD of Rs 10,000/- drawn in favour of Doon Business School and payable at Dehradun.
  6. Students confirmed for admission shall have to deposit the balance fees for the first year within next 30 days. Those students wishing to avail a bank loan and requiring extra time shall make a request within 3 weeks of confirmation of admission. Additional time to deposit the fee for 30 days or as deemed fit by the Director will be granted only on an additional payment of Rs 25,000/- with an undertaking that in case the fees is not deposited till the due date, the seat may be allotted to another candidate. In case of sanction of higher loan amounts, any excess payment will be refunded to the student.
  7. The student needs to produce the following certificates in original (with two attested Copies)at the time of admission:
    1. 8 passport size photographs
    2. Character certificate from the last institute/college attended
    3. 10th and 12th class marks sheet & pass certificate
    4. Migration Certificate
