DBS Elocution Competition on "Artificial Intelligence for Safety & Hazards"

Date:- 20-Feb-2024

In celebration of National Productivity Week, the Uttarakhand Productivity Council, in collaboration with Doon Business School, orchestrated a thought-provoking Elocution Competition on the DBS campus. This event aimed to instill a culture of productivity and raise awareness among the youth regarding its significance, benefits to industries and the nation, along with exploring tools for productivity enhancement. Approximately 75 enthusiastic students participated, with 12 contenders earning their spots in the final round. The participants were tasked with addressing the theme of "Artificial Intelligence for Safety & Hazards," each given 5-6 minutes to articulate their perspectives. Additionally, they showcased their creativity through self-made video presentations, each lasting 3-4 minutes.

The competition was fierce, but three exceptional speakers emerged victorious: Ms. Neha (MBA-1st year) secured the 1st prize, walking away with Rs. 3000; Mr. Rishabh (PGDM-1st year) claimed the 2nd prize, bagging Rs. 2000 and Ms. Parish (MBA-1st year) earned the 3rd prize, receiving Rs. 1000, courtesy of the Uttarakhand Productivity Council. Mr. Shyamal Chatterjee, Plant Head of Tupperware, graced the occasion with his opening remarks, setting the stage for an intellectually stimulating event. The valediction was skilfully presented by Sh. Rajendra Singh, Vice President of UPC and ED-HR at UJVNL. Distinguished guests included S.P Singh, Secretary of UPC and Dr. MCK Mishra, MD-UPCL (Rtd). The event was seamlessly coordinated by the HR Club - The Empirical Minds. The Elocution Competition not only showcased the talents of our students but also fostered a spirit of intellectual curiosity and productivity. These young minds, with their insights into the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and safety, have undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the academic landscape. As we move forward, Doon Business School remains committed to nurturing such platforms for intellectual exchange and growth.
