The Department of Finance at Doon Business School successfully organized a National Seminar on Corporate Governance for Financial Sustainability on 20th May 2023. The event aimed to create a platform for experts, professionals, and students to delve into the crucial role of corporate governance in ensuring long-term financial sustainability for organizations.

The event was graced by the presence of distinguished speakers, panelists,

and attendees, who collectively contributed to enriching the discussions and insights shared. The seminar commenced with enlightening keynote speeches delivered by Sh. Shiv Anant Shabkar (CGM, IBBI) and Dr. Avinash Anand (CEO and MD, USGCF) in the field of corporate governance. These speeches provided a comprehensive overview of current trends, challenges, and future prospects in corporate governance for financial sustainability. Participants gained valuable insights into emerging governance practices, regulations, and the significance of ethical conduct in today's business landscape. It was followed by insightful speeches by Ms. Sonia Garg (CEO, Forace Group of Companies), CA Priyanka Gulati (Partner, Grant Thornton) and CS Atul Rawat (Former Chairman, Lucknpw Chapter, ICSI).

Panel included Mrs. Nandita Mishra (Chief Economic Officer, Ministry of Consumer Affairs), Mr. Sanjeev Chopra (Former MD, SIDCUL), CA Harinder Garg (President, SIDCUL Manufacturing Association) and CA Satish Chhabra (CFO, Doon Business School). The topics covered included board structure, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and the role of technology in enhancing governance practices.
